IMPROVING THE STABILITY OF BENTONITE SLURRY USING GELLAN GUM FOR AN EMERGENT HYDRAULIC BARRIER

چکیده

The distinctive properties of bentonite such as hydration, swelling, water absorption, ion adsorption, high viscosity, and thixotropy make it a valuable material for many applications in geotechnical engineering hydraulic barriers, drilling slurry, landfill liners. Many additives cement, hay fiber, polymer have been used to enhance the performance which are proved respected research. This study introduces gellan gum friendly environmental additive that improves slurry stability when is barriers/walls. was treated with different concentration 0% (untreated); 2%; 3%; 4%, 5%, 6% 7% mass distilled water. A series unconfined compression tests were conducted on – mixture. test results show effect compressive strength initial thermal curing conditions.
